Dear Hiring Manager,

I am writing to express my interest in an internship position in the Bureau of Finance, Administration, and Services. I am a freshman majoring in Finance at Baruch College and I hope to put my knowledge into practice and gain first-hand experience on the job so that I can confidently move forward in this career path in the future. I believe that my interest in finance, strong work ethic, and proficiency with basic Excel tools make me an ideal candidate for this position.

One of the main reasons I was attracted to this internship program is that I feel this internship opportunity is essential to gaining key experiences that will set me apart in my career. The Department of Finance is committed to achieving efficient financial management in the public sector, which is a perfect fit with my career goals, so I am eager to contribute to this important work of the Department of Finance, which also allows me to better understand how this work benefits society.

Although I have just begun studying Finance at Baruch College, I have already gained a solid grasp of financial principles through a good combination of theory and practice. I often use Excel to complete my assignments, which has significantly improved my data analysis and financial model analysis skills, allowing me to better understand and communicate information. In addition to technical skills, I also have excellent communication skills and a keen sense of detail, which allows me to express my ideas clearly and be precise in my work. I am willing to use these advantages to gain experience through this internship, improve my professional level, and become a member of your team.

In addition, I take pride in meeting deadlines and taking responsibilities. I think it is essential to strictly follow instructions and complete work on time. I have been involved in three or four projects before, but one of them was late due to some personal reasons, which made me feel ashamed. As a result, I would feel guilty and worried that anything bad might happen. Therefore, it is very important for me to have a solid work ethic and work enthusiasm, and I believe that with these, I can become an excellent member of your team. Whether it is worrying about work or helping colleagues, I am always energetic and helpful.

I eagerly look forward to the challenge of interning in the Finance, Administration and Services Bureau, and I believe that this internship will be an excellent learning experience as my goal is to achieve excellence in the field of finance. Learning from experts, being able to apply what I learned in school to practice, and gaining further growth in a challenging work environment are all aspects that attract me. I am happy for the opportunity to further learn how to use my experience, enthusiasm and qualifications to make a positive contribution to this department. Thank you for your consideration. I welcome the opportunity to work in your department and look forward to connecting with you in the near future.

Sincerely,

Eric Liu
