History is profoundly significant as it is the foundation upon which we build our future. Therefore, it is vital that individuals accurately take the relevant steps in documenting what will ultimately become history. According to the article entitled “WikiLeaks and the Historical Community”, we are told that good historians “sift” through numerous documents to find those with value. Consequently, the information of our time, that will in due course be recorded as history for the coming eras, will have to be carefully sifted through despite the source. Historians of this era have access to more sources than those of the past, as they have become accessible in many mediums due to the technological upgrade. Therefore, there will be much more ways of sourcing information that will become the history for those of the future. One medium that has apparently become an attraction to historians is Twitter. Tweets produced by this new network will become the history for those of the future, after they have been carefully sifted through, so as to provide valid and relevant information. The impact this technological upgrade has on sourcing historical evidence could be a positive one. The positive impact would be having a great amount of history for those of the future and the fact that the historians will have more means of sourcing substantial information for documentation. Many may believe that this would be easier for historians, but this could be a more tedious task, as there will be more information to sift through in order to find credible, reliable and valid information.
>>Historical Changes because of Technological Upgrades<<
Consequently, the sourcing of historical evidence has changed and is changing due to technological upgrades. Similarly, in the future, the sourcing of historical evidence will change as upgrades to technology are occurring on a regularly basis.
