Due to the rapid growth and usage of technology, the ability to take records and information for future references become much easier. One such way is an archive of tweets, storing every public tweet in a database. Some may find it useless, but what will be most noticeable for historians when looking at tweets are current news and trends in society, such as major events in the world and how it affects people down to a person’s fashion sense and what celebrities are doing.
Although there’ll probably be more tweets on current location or current endeavors, such as the failed toasted tomato sandwich, a search engine can possibly be used in the future to quickly scan for information, similar to how Google is utilized today. This is simply one way for future historians to research on history, but shouldn’t be confused to being the sole way to do so.
