Discovery

When discussing the history of the development of New York, we must not forget the man who discovered it. Giovanni da Verrazzano was the first European to enter the site which will be the future New York City. During his trip to the American continent, in April, he anchored in the bay of New York and continued his journey to the North. His discovery was very important to historical change, because it paved the way for other explorers like Henry Hudson and allowed them too discover the New York in which we live today

One Response to Discovery

  1. Explorers are the most important factors in the U.S and New York making them what they are today. Without them America would not have been found by as Rommie states, Giovanni Di Verrazano, or brought to significance by Columbus. We would most likely not have been first founded by Amsterdam, and then by England. Therefore we probably would all be Native Americans.
