Bridging The Gap

In the 1800’s the Brooklyn Bridge brought up many mixed feelings. While some skeptics thought it would just collapse into the river others marveled at its beauty along with the ability for easier transportation for New Yorkers. Bringing, what at the time were two different cities, Brooklyn and New York together it served as a sort of symbolism for people coming together and demonstrated the advancement of that time; that being the brick towers and suspension style structuring. The bridge showed the enitre world how far New York had come and what beautiful and innovative ideas they were capable of.
