Slave trade was started in early 1700s after British and European immigrated to america. They only brought hundreds african to america as their slaves but the trade became more often and the amount of slaves became biger and biger. Therefore, race became a big issue in lated america. Until the civil rights movement in 1950s, african americans finally got their voting rights in america.
