Many people think that Henry Hudson was the first person to discover the Hudson River when in fact it was really Giovanni da Verrazano. Giovanni was a French explorer who was trying to find a NorthWestern passage to China. He originally had four ships, but only returned back to France with one ship; still, he returned with riches such as silver and gold. This adventure was very important because it marked the first time where Europeans set foot in New York.
I truly believe that this fact is important to historical change. It marked the first time that a European reached the East Coast of North America as well as New York. Moreover, his conquests to North Carolina empowered others just like him to journey across the planet; he motivated other conquests.
