Behind the [Scenes]

  • A quotation taken from “Frank Leslie’s Illustrated Newspaper, August 16, 1873”,  which was used to ingeniously start the introduction of  Tyler Abinder’s work entitled “Five Points”. The newspaper is a primary source as it holds the direct line(s) said by the person being quoted. I believe this source is valid because the newspaper states factual and direct information while stating their sources.

  • The Evening Post

The Evening Post, a very trustworthy source due to the fact that is a regularly made post on current events from the perspective of the viewer themselves – the person(s) who are actually experienced what they are writing about, which makes it a Primary Source.

  • Junius H. Browne, The Great Metropolis: A Mirror of New-York (Hartford, 1869),272, a secondary source as it was penned from someone elses point of view. However, it could be considered trustworthy as they gathered their information from valid sources
