• Reading:
–Homberger: read all; Rosenzweig, Introduction only (chapter 1 optional); Riess, Introduction only; Kasson, introduction only
•Website:
–http://www.lostmuseum.cuny.edu/home.html. Spend at least 20 minutes exploring this site. I encourage you to participate in the game there (by choosing “Who Burned Down the Museum” when you first arrive). If you just want to look around without playing the game, choose “Explore the Museum” from the first screen.
•Written:
–Write 2-3 paragraphs explaining your experience on the Lost Museum website. Include an image that represents something you learned from your visit. Questions you may wish to address include:
•What did you learn about Barnum’s museum?
•What did you learn about entertainment in 19th century NYC?
•What is your opinion about the strengths and weaknesses of the website as a historical tool?
the website is listed as under construction.
Also, Homberger reading is the same as the one due Feb 28th.
@Shayna: Sorry, I gave the wrong URL. The correct address is http://www.lostmuseum.cuny.edu/home.html
@Anita: Thanks for pointing that out. Just take a look at the last page of Homberger, since it has a map of locations related to leisure and entertainment. For everyone else: no need to download the Homberger, since as Anita noticed, it is the same file as for 2/28.
