The Lost Museum website is basically a recreation/visualization of P.T Barnums American Museum. It focuses on Mid 19th centuary New York. There was a fire on July 13, 1865 that destroyed this museum. Know one knows how the fire started.
Theres a game you can play called “Who Burned down the Museum”?. You get clues from different characters, its a mystery game. You have to choose which clue matches to who. Theres also suggested Archive materical you can read from to figure out your clues. You receive a notebook which you can write down all your notes and than finally choose the person that you think burnt down the museum. Its interesting because its like a treasure hunt for the guilty person.
Theres one section on the website which is called “Visit the classroom”. There are various essays about the museum. There are links for teachers to use with there students. Theres also a map, timeline and biliography. So I would say its a good website for students to use if they have to write a report because they can find useful information and use the Bibliography to site there sources.
