LOST FIRE

Going on the website http://www.lostmuseum.cuny.edu/home.html, and playing the game/challenge of Who Burned Down the Museum was a learning experience. Almost every little crook or picture had some sort of historical reference. The Barnum Museum was like an American Museum; it had history of not only of New York, dating back to Presidents like Lincoln, or historical buildings, and past literature pieces.

One of the things that stood out to me that I learned of about entertainment in the 19th century were the Bowry Boys. The entertainment area was known as The Bowry. The Bowry Boys were young men, working class in the entertainment arena. They also had another nickname called the “soaplocks”. Entertainment was also a lot of focus on theatre which many enjoyed.

Overall, I think the whole idea of the recreation/game was very smart and entertaining. It really peaked my interest, while learning history. My only complaint is that the game is kind of confusing at first, you don’t really know where to go or when you are finished with the clues. I kind of got confused halfway, when none of the clues would come out, but I knew I was missing some. Besides that, I thought it was an enjoyable experience.
