The Barnum Museum website is a very interesting website because its a great interactive tool that engages the visitors to the many attractions as well as clues about various historical figures, events, as well as technological advances during that time period. I felt like this was a helpful tool because everything about the museum connect in some way and it follows a chronological sequence. Events link together to give the visitor a broad picture of what happened in history. One of the most interesting aspects of the technology was the display of an early steam engine made of glass so the viewers would be able to see all the insides and how it actually worked. The steam engine was a very big step to expansion during the 19th century.
Drinking was a constant problem during that time, especially when the Irish immigrants were pooling into New York in large numbers and excessively drinking which lead to violence. This event also made a big impact in the entertainment world as well. One of the plays that was scripted was called The Drunkard or the Fallen Saved depicts situations that were actually happening to people during that time. The play includes humor, comic, dances, songs and choruses which shows how entertainment was so advanced. It was not only a play where people acted, but sang and danced as well.
