Entering the Lost Museum I could not help being spooked by the atmosphere and the “Dracula” themed music. I turned the game off after I saw something run across the screen. Living in NYC you would think I would be used to rodents by now. Anticipating something to pop out and scare the living daylights out of me, instead I got a lady in antiquated clothing with an accent asking me a question? I still have yet to make any sense of it what she said. Continuing the scroll and search slowly I read a sign which said “No Admittance for Females of Known Bad Character.” That was extremely interesting to see especially because it depicts the moral values of the times or the owner of the museum for that matter. I wonder why it did not say no gamblers, thieves, and adulterers- I always assumed they had bad characters as well, but maybe that’s just me.
As if things couldn’t get worse I made my way to P.T. Barnum’s office. How creepy can a person get? His portrait of himself looking at the Ballerina made me a bit uncomfortable. It was interesting to see images of Uncle Tom’s Cabin. When I opened the safe, annoyed that the music was still making me paranoid, I saw Joice Heith Contract, but it was not that much of a surprise about his support in slavery. This was an experience for me, but the next time I decide to come on this site I’ll have all the lights on and somebody big close by.
