… and this time, They Riot!!!

According to the Bernstein reading, the Draft Riot began as a demonstration on the morning of July 13 and expanded into the catastrophic event we read about. It stated that those who were targeted, were the black folks and the poor white ones – the poorer community. However, the blacks were more severely attacked as rioters wiped out all their properties thus erasing the presence of the black community. Similarly, the website expounds on the Draft Riots, expressing the extent to which the African Americans were targeted, also stating that those African Americans who did not evacuate the area after the third day of the rioting, were attacked and resulted in fatal or near fatal outcomes.

Both sources were quite effective as they were both comprised of useful and valid information on the given top, Draft Riots. I believe the website was more effective, as each day of rioting was sectionalized, making it easier to navigate through the days of the events and pointing out what happened on each day. The fact that both sources contained a pictorial presentation of the undertakings was also quite effective. The contents of the website were sufficient and substantial. However, as it pertains to improving the website, it would be recommended that more effects be added, such as colors and animations, to make the website more attractive and less bland as this will draw the reader’s attention.
