Fire in the Whole.

Draft riots are considered the absolute worst domestic disagreements in history. The website points out how these riots first began with a fire, to how they end. It also talks about how the blacks were among the first target and also the mot obvious. It goes on to say that any white people who were hiding slaves had there houses burnt to the ground. The wealthy were also attacked but mostly just to steal the liquor or weapons they had. I liked the website because the facts were short and sweet but also because the links on the bottom let you go to the next events or the previous.

The Bernstein book goes into a lot more elongated detail then the website which I personally don’t like. That being said the good that comes out of that is the breakdown of facts. The Bernstein book goes from one section to another explaining in detail what happened, where and to whom. It also talks about the politics of the riots. Bernstein talks about the politics a lot. I’m not even sure the website goes into the politics of the riots. Also I liked that Bernstein talked about the feelings that not only the immigrants but also that the people already residing there felt at that time.
