In a way, I’m kind of looking forward to watching the movie because I think that it’s going to give me a better representation of the 5 Points than what the readings gave me. When I read the book and other readings, I thought the whole topic of the 5 Points were boring because it basically just gave me facts. The readings basically told me that the 5 Points is a place where immigrants went to and settled once they got to New York. And for the most part, that’s all I got from it.
One thing that I find pretty interesting is that the 5 Points is located every close to my job, and within the area, you can still see the separation of people and different ethnic backgrounds. I think that watching the movie and seeing all of the action will cause me to actually find it more interesting.
