I guess the movie is pretty accurate historically speaking, due to the fact that all these gangs did exist and they actually fought. I don’t know if this is really what happened in the five points but in Tyler Abinder’s book it portrays the type of lifestyle shown in the movie. The “butcher” ruled the five points with fear and power he also had a relationship and some sort of connection with Tweed who had most of the power in the five points.
I think this movie was produced very well, the music, special effects, acting and all aspects of the movie are made really well. At this point i am really looking forward to finishing the movie and seeing how the events portrayed in the movie depict what actually went on in the real five points many years ago.
