We Believe in Education

One of Chudacoff’s biggest points was the educational reform that took place in the late 1800s. Chuadacoff believed that education could be the key to instilling urban masses with reformers standards of citizenship and democracy.  Between 1870 and 1910 public school enrollments rose from 6.9 million to 17.8 million.  In current news the new york city public school chancellor has stepped down. Leaving room for a brand new chancellor that will be Dennis Walcott. ” Walcott has served as a deputy mayor to Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s from the beginning of his first term. This morning, Bloomberg announced he would appoint Walcott to the position of Schools Chancellor just months after publishing executive Cathie Black took over the post. Walcott’s appointment is pending a waiver from the state because he lacks a formal superintendent’s license.” School was incredibly important in the late 19th century as well as it is today. Because without education our society will lack the knowledge to proceed in life.
