When the Great Depression first began, President Hoover started a lot of programs that might bring some help for the depression but heĀ failed; unemployment rate kept rising. Until 1932, FDR took Hoover’s chair as a new president and started many other policies. He had made extremely realignment in US politics by his New Deal. FDR set up social security, minimum wages, labor standards and many others which directly helped economy and became part of the most important policies in later US.
