Hmm biased perspectives don’t you think?

The Evening Post

Five Points, by Tyler Anbinder is about the “slums” of the nineteenth century. Five points was initially discussed by historians and journalist due to the horrible standard of living in the area and its notoriety. Tyler Anbinder also discusses the effect the Irish, African-American, German and Chinese immigrants had on the area such as the greatly increasing the number of people in Five Points. My three sources are:

* Source 1

“The Sun”: I believe The Sun correspondent’s report is a primary source because he actually visited Five Points. I personally doubt the credibility of the report due to a perceived bias from  “The Sun” newspapers which may have exaggerated a bit for commercial purposes.

*Source 2

Gilje’s Road to Mobcracy” : This was a secondary source. It is quite accurate because the diary was written by someone who actually lived during the 19’s. I believe it is quite credible.

*Source 3

Cornelius“:  In my opinion this is a highly credible source because it is an unaltered letter to the Editor of “The Post”. It is a primary source.
