At the beginning they show a lot of picture and give a lot of facts about slavery, and how it was wrong… but then it shows New York as a somewhat of a safe place, where slaves that wanted freedom could go and get paid for their hard work. This was a step towards becoming free people. Slavery became abolished until 1827, but of course everything does not die down automatically. Although both the reading and the website have a few similar looks on slavery in New York, the website is more against slavery than White’s readings.
When I was reading and looking at the website, everything seemed to go either way. No matter what someone writes about slavery, it is always going to show what side they are on.
I agree with you that whatever is written it will actually be more one sided. Everything thats being said is bias without the author actaully knowing its being done.
