I am now a free man

Slavery is what slavery is but exactly is slavery. Growing up I heard mostly one side of slavey but now I’m starting to realize it was more than just picking cotton. The slaves that was brought here came here without they own well and in many cases stayed a slave until
death. In online content and the book gave me a different intake on slavery in america. The online source illustrate more of a fight for many slaves they was burning building, houses and even killing white man for they freedom. I didn’t exactly knew of such a fight before in many reading I look at them as being hopeless and stood they ground but here I was seeing more of fighters that wanted equality and freedom like every other person. But it seem that as blacks became more educated more wanted to return to africa and be a Freeman in they own homeland.
One argument that was interresting in the text and not online was how educated some black was without school or high education. But it should hoe threaten some whites felt about an educated black man and wanted to keep them under they control regardless. Mr. Horton is an example of a man that was educated and had money to buy his freedom that other raise but still dead a slave because his own his owner didn’t want to let him free.
Just like anything in life there is always two sides of a story and reading the text and going to the website allowed me to see that blacks was fighting for freedom before the civil war but in man situation it was the money that held them back. Luckily those living in NYC became free even though the life of a free man wasn’t easy. Here we have blacks that was one of the first group to move here but the last one to actual gain freedom and liberty due to the valor of they skin.
