I agree with Eleazar Villalon about the British capturing New Amsterdam from the Dutch being the most important event that took place, because it became, what is now known as, New York City, and that is where most of us live today. I also think that it’s the most important event because it shows how one group of people can come and take over what others have already established and make it better (because the that’s what everyone has done in history). Not only did they improve their newly conquered establishement, but they made it more attractive which caused more people to settle there as well (growth in population). I think the growth in population from then froshadowed our population now, because now, our population constantly increases and we’re always attracting more people to come visit/move here.
