Baseball in New York and everywhere else

Throughout the entire decade of the 1920’s the baseball teams in New York, the New York Giants and the New York Yankees, have dominated the sport of baseball by being a part of the World series nearly every year in the 1920’s. New York baseball has dominated every other baseball team during this time and it set the tone for New York being an aggressive and winning state in sports. This era also brought ought arguably the best baseball player of all time. Babe Ruth.

I agree with Professor Harbison. Don’t forget the Brooklyn Dodgers! Remember, that was the team that Jackie Robinson, one of the most influential African Americans, played for. Since 1903, both the New York Yankees and the New York Mets (established in the mid-1900s) have won a combined 29 World Series Championships. The Mets never had a consistent win streak, whereas the Yankees have won championships in consecutive years (ie, 1996-98, 2000). Babe Ruth was arguably the best player in baseball history and is in the top 5 spot in homeruns and played two positions, outfielder and pitcher, which is quite remarkable for a player. Not many players match his statistics.
