Impeachment of Bill Clinton

On December 19, 1998, President Bill Clinton was impeached by the house of Representative. I think it is important because he was only the second impeachment of a President in American history, following the impeachment of Andrew Johnson in 1868. I think being a president, one should watch out himself’s behavior all the time as being an example of all the Americans.

Gulf War

This video covers whole Gulf War with a lot of slideshows and very rhythmus music. It looks like three part of the war. Before the Gulf War, there were a lot of militaries and troops going to attack the Gulf. During the war, there were many injurious persons and damaged places. After the war, it shows that they accomplished the assignment. I really enjoyed the music of this video.

    Gulf War is very important historal event because that was the first large- scale war after the Cold War. I personally think this war made America know the Saddam Hussein. And it also contributed little to the Iraq War.

1993 World Trade Center bombing

This shows the significance of the 1993 plot by terrorists to destroy the World Trade Center. In 1993, the terrorists’ plot was unsuccessful; however, in 2001 they did succeed. I feel that after 1993, the US government should have been aware global terrorists were plotting to destroy the World Trade Center, and should have taken preventive measures. Thus, the 9/11 attacks could have definately been prevented had the US government acted following the 1993 attacks.

2008 Economic breakdown

Recent crisis begun in the USA early fall of 2008, but the first warning we got when Lehman Brothers declared bankruptcy. In the fall of 2008 most of big financial institution experienced huge financial problems. Many small banks bankrupted, but large institutions like Bank of America, or City Bank needed help in from of bailouts. All these problems were caused by too loose credit policy. Banks were giving credits very easily to people who weren’t able to pay them of.

Although it’s gotten a little better we still see people struggling with the consequences of the whole economic situation. I hope people take this lesson and we will never have to experience anything like this again.
