“Alphabet Soup”

The New Deal consisted of many programs and was sometimes referred to as "alphabet soup." Of the many programs, there were the Works Progress Administration (WPA), Public Works Administration (PWA) and Agricultural Adjustment Act (AAA). The children in the cartoon bear these initials.
