Study in Greece – Spring 2013 – Scholarships Available

The CSI program in Greece (Spring, Fall and Summer) offers courses in Business, Humanities, Social Science and Technology in Greece at The American College of Thessaloniki.

Spring Application Deadline: October 15 – could be extended for up to two weeks

Semester scholarship opportunities:

  • Greece ACT Merit Award (3.6 GPA and up, available for semester students), $1000 grant
  • Greece ACT Hellenic American Scholarship (Eligible Greek American semester students), $2000-$5000

Thematic Programs at ACT

In addition to providing regular semester or summer Study Abroad programs, the American College of Thessaloniki is now offering Thematic Programs in Business and International Relations.

Emerging Markets / Business Thematic program – Spring, fall, and Summer 2013

The programs is designed to offer business students the possibility of developing hands-on experience  on how emerging markets operate, as well as the skills to anticipate what problems and opportunities  companies might face in such environments. Emphasis will also be placed on how such companies handle cases requiring crisis management.

Courses: The program consists of two 3-credit courses. Semester students can add 2-3 electives from
Core course 1: Emerging Markets and the Growth of Globalization
Core course 2: Business Practices in Select Sectors of Greece and Southeast Europe (Practicum)
Study Field Trips: The program includes trips involving overnight stays in selected destinations in Southeastern Europe (Serbia, Bulgaria, Turkey) for the purpose of visiting companies and institutions.

International Relations / Humanities Thematic program – Spring and fall semesters 2013

Program overview: Students interested in politics, history, and the social sciences may enroll in one of three  specially designed thematic modules, which feature seminars taught by experts in regional and joining structured study trips throughout Northern Greece and Southeast Europe, depending on their interests. Recent trips have included meetings with senior policy makers and journalists in Skopje, Pristina, and Sofia.
