Community Access

Fundraising Event

Event: The Good Neighbor Walk
Date: Saturday, October 25, 2014
Time: Volunteers will work in two- to four-hour shifts, from 7:00am-3:00 pm
Location: Battery Park City

On Saturday, October 25, Community Access will hold its signature fundraising event – the Good Neighbor Walk – which brings together program participants, tenants, supporters, and the general public for a 3-mile walk that runs from 2 Washington Street up the waterfront in Battery Park City and concludes with an after-party featuring food, music, a costume contest, face painting, etc.

They are looking for volunteers to assist with walker check-in, guiding walkers, water distribution, set-up for the party, etc. Volunteers will work in two- to four-hour shifts, starting as early as 7:00 am and concluding at 3:00 pm.

We hope you’ll agree that this would be a wonderful community service opportunity for Baruch students. Many of the people who participate in our walk are individuals and families who are tenants in one of the 25+ supportive housing facilities that Community Access operates across the city.

For more information on Community Access, you can visit www.communityaccess.org. Details on the walk are at www.goodneighborwalk.org.
