Tutors Needed for After-School Program (PAID Positions)

Beginning with Children

FOR IMMEDIATE HIRE

DESCRIPTION:

The Beginning with Children (BwC) Legacy Alumni Network is currently seeking experienced Tutors for our After-School Tutoring Program, which will take place at the Beginning with Children Lower School in Williamsburg, Brooklyn on Thursdays from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. Areas of need include:

• Math (Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II/Trigonometry)
• Science (Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, Physics)
• History (Global History, US History)
• English (Grammar, Essay Writing)
• NY State Regents (Algebra, Biology, Geometry, Global History, US History)

QUALIFICATIONS:

• BA/BS or working towards degree with preferred GPA minimum of 3.5 in selected subject area
• At least 1 year experience tutoring youth in a similar setting
• Ability to effectively tailor tutoring around students’ unique needs
• Commitment to helping students overcome internal and external barriers to success
• Ability to commit to schedule
