3 – Schedule an Advising Appointment: to schedule a meeting with your Advisor. Reminder: First Years and sophomores are required to meet with their Honors Advisor for course approval.

4 – Make sure your records are up-to-date
- Intended Major Application: Submit to the Registrar’s Office, before completing 60 credits, to declare your intended major.

Selecting a Major/Minor
- Academic Bulletin: Outlines official academic requirements for all fields of study
- Starr Career Center: Provides Major Guides; see information about the “Focus 2 Career Self-Assessment”
- CUNY BA: Create your own major with mentorship from a faculty member
- Ad Hoc: Combine two or more disciplines to create an individualized, interdisciplinary major
- Degree Maps: Outlines a suggested term-by-term course sequence for all majors

5 – Special permissions
- E-permit: To take courses at other CUNY campuses; see the process, eligibility, and other related information.
- Natural Science courses: Outlines the Pathways Science requirement for all students and process of requesting permission for major courses.
- Honors Hold: Typically for not meeting Honors requirements; contact your Honors Advisor to get it removed. Contact the listed department for all other types of Holds in CUNYfirst.
- Reminder: Marxe majors must take PAF 4401 or an Honors Thesis as their capstone. Students must speak to their Advisor regarding contracting PAF 4401, so it can count as an honors course, since we do not offer an “H” section.
Weissman: Includes information regarding the Pre-Weissman core, declaring a liberal arts major/minor, commonly used forms, and more.
- Reminder: Weissman majors must take a Feit Seminar or an Honors Thesis as their capstone. By exception and approval by the Honors Program, students can alternatively use an honors Harman Writer-In-Residence course as their capstone.
Zicklin: Provides in-depth information on requirements for business majors/minors, enrollment criteria, waitlists and more.
- Reminder: Zicklin majors must take BPL 5100H, the honors section of their required capstone. This course can only be taken in your final semester.
- For regular Zicklin courses, please refer to the general Zicklin waitlist policy.
- For BUS 4XXX-level courses, contact the Zicklin Honors Program directly.
- For Feit Seminars (IDC 4050H), contact Andrew Sloin , regarding availability.
- All other Honors courses do not have a waitlist and will not be over-enrolled.
