2012 NYC High School Journalism Conference

High school newspaper advisers and  students are invited to join the NYC High School Journalism Collaborative and members of New York City’s press corps in a day-long series of workshops and presentations designed to educate, inspire and transform student journalists and their leaders.

We are pleased to announce that Robert Thomson, managing editor of the Wall Street Journal, will be kick off the event as Keynote Speaker. This year’s event also will include the 3rd Annual award presentation for The Newsies! –  New York City’s high school journalism competition.

The conference will feature more than 30 workshops for advisers and students. Check back frequently for updated workshops and presenters.

Please note: Each school is permitted to bring one adviser and up to five (5) student journalists to the conference. Space is limited.

To register:
Advisers should e-mail their name and their school to hsjournalism.conf@baruch.cuny.edu. Registration closes on Fri., Oct. 26 and is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Registration by e-mail only. All schools must register to attend.
