High school newspaper advisers and their students are invited to join the NYC High School Journalism Collaborative and members of New York City’s press corps in a day-long series of workshops and presentations designed to educate, inspire and transform student journalists and their leaders.
This year’s event will include the award presentation for The Newsies! – the first high school journalism competition for New York City students. Awards will be presented by Kevin Convey, editor-in-chief of the New York Daily News.
The conference will feature more than 30 workshops for advisers and students. Pre-registration is required for the “Getting Your Newspaper Online Using my.hsj.org” workshop. This workshop is intended for adviser-and-student duos. Indicate your interest in this workshop in your registration email.
Please note: Each school is permitted to bring one adviser and up to five (5) student journalists to the conference. Space is limited.
Advisers should e-mail their name and their school to firstname.lastname@example.org. Registration closes on Tues., Nov. 23 and is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Registration by e-mail only. All schools must register to attend.
