The “Announcements” tab on this site is constructed using a category. An “Announcements” category was created to organize posts. Any post that is categorized as an “Announcement” will feed into this area under the Announcements tab in the menu.

A professor can utilize the WordPress category feature to create different areas of the site dedicated to different topics, here “Announcements”.  Every time the professor wants to post a new announcement, he or she can write a post with the announcement, categorize the post as an announcement and it will automatically be filtered into the Announcements Tab on the site.
