Researchers use many tools to analyze voter response during presidential elections, particularly during debates. For example, CNN uses The Debate Pulse, an interactive polling tool that allows a randomly selected group of survey respondents to express in real time their like or dislike of what each candidate says during the debate. The results of the survey appear in graphical form on one side of the screen while the candidate speaks on the other side. This is another way in determining who wins the debate. Below is a video of the 2nd presidential debate between Obama and Romney, which showed a even performance between the two candidates.
