The animation Op Hop – Hop op was cool yet kind of disturbing in a way. I liked how the shapes flashed at different speeds, where some were shown for a split second and vanished while others stayed on the screen for longer. However, the art style and the use of sound made it seem like I was running away from something in a dim empty hospital, something out of a horror movie.
The 2014 Beauty animation looks like how AI would “animate” still photos. As seen on TikTok and their partnership with CapCut, it was possible to “animate” images of deceased loved ones to make it seem like they’re smiling or giving you a hug in the photo, but since it’s originally a flat photo it doesn’t look natural. The animation itself I think, shows the morbid reality of life in that time period, in the beginning showing childhood innocence and then at the end with war and death.
I didn’t really understand Rejected the animation but I liked how I could see the changes in pen/marker ink opacity with the characters movement, showing all the hard work and time that went into creating the whole piece. Compared to the animation George Washington where it was a set of still drawings in almost like a slideshow to deliver the story.
I liked the Logorama animation because of how detailed it is. They filled the whole screen with logos and the elements in the background are even moving, whereas in previous animations, it was only the elements in the foreground with the focus. The animation is smooth and I like the look of the colors and style too.
