I am Joseph Fahey, a freshman at Baruch and this is my first blog. I am a person that works hard to achieve what I want. I look to succeed in everything that I do and try never to give up. So far I am enjoying my time in Baruch, however I do have some concerns about the days ahead. The work is beginning to intensify, I have not completely adjusted to going to college yet, and I have not learned about all of the resources available to me at school. In the first few weeks of classes the work was rather easy and I did not have to put much effort into doing it, but now that school is in full swing the work is starting to pick up. I am still getting use to going to college and still in summer mode which I need to get out of or else I am going to fall behind on my work. Since the work load is becoming larger I have to try to change some of my bad habits that carried me through high school. I can see already that I will not be able to get through college as easily as high school. I think I need to explore the school because I still get lost sometimes when going to my classes. I didn’t get to go on a tour of the school and learn about all the resources available and I wish I would have. I am going to have to start writing a lot of papers on different topics and will need all the help I can get so hopefully I will better familiarize myself with the school sometime soon. I think that my first year of college will have a great effect on me because it should help me grow up not only as a man but as a student.

I agree that college takes alot of work. Several resources have been mentioned in class for you to take advantage of. Your student planner lists locations and services. Also, you can talk to Miasha or I with any problems.
Good luck as you keep working to transition into the college.
