The Art of Noise made me more aware of how many different noises are in the songs I listen to. In most of the songs I listen to, I always just thought that it was only comprised of instruments and only some rare occasions where it would have a random sound in there that isnβt too insane. For example, Olivia Rodrigoβs Driver License. At the beginning, there is the sound of a car, which isnβt that crazy because itβs pretty similar to sounds that could come from an instrument. The noise of the car starting also enhances the song and gives it flavor as it pertains to the topic that she is singing about. One song that included a noise I would never think about using is Kill this Love by Blackpink. In the outro of the song, there are elephants layered into the instrumental. The idea of it sounds crazy, but the song sound more complete and interesting.
The audio I chose is by Vladimir Ussachevsky. This sound sounds like it belongs in a horror movie or an audio overlay for a foggy dusk by the edge of a cliff that drops off into the raging waves below and thereβs a light house surrounded by a forest. Sound has always been an art to me, mostly because of the term music artists and music is basically just a bunch of sounds combined. Personally, I do not like the sound I chose. Itβs too eerie and I prefer something that puts me at ease or hype or something that suits my mood and I am never in an eerie mood.
