Plastic

After leaving class today i would have to say i was really fascinated with the interesting facts i learned with our friendly guests. They showed me plastic is in fact used to make many objects we use in our everyday lives from things such as plastic cups, plates, forks, knives, and even more. When looking up my object which was a plastic Poland Spring bottle i found out how they make them from things that are not good for us that we could in fact be sipping when drinking which could be hazerdous. Also i found that the different bottle companies from one of our guests speakers have different textures, some more flimsy then others or more sturdier. When talking sporadically through class i and my fellow students objects intrigued me that some we couldn’t even guess due to the fact that some don’t even have id numbers printed on it to see how it was made when looking it up online. Another part of the class i really liked was when we went to the different floors to explore the artists projects and seeing all the different videos and how they intwined through each floor telling us a story. From what we discussed in class i would have to say i will most likely recycle more and use less plastic as much as i can because even though I’m one person it could make a difference. These plastics being used we found some don’t ever go away. An example i liked that one of the guests stated was that these plastics some how go into our  ocean. These plastics build up to be one big item that fish start to eat and die and pass on to other fish. This is not bad for only us, but the animals of the ocean. Overall i believe it was a great time and found it to be an interesting knowledgeable class time.
