The 85th Annual San Gennaro Festival is New York City’s longest and most popular religious parade will be held in Little Italy. The neighborhood that many Italian immigrants called home in the first half of the 20th century. It is an 11 day celebration of culture with food, parades, games, and free musical entertainment.

Gems and Music, The Life of One City Jeweler

For 74-year-old jewelry designer, Raquel Jarosevschi, art not only imitated life, it became one, hers. Shortly after emigrating from Brazil to New York in 1965, she worked with people in the jewelry business and taught herself how to design and manage the business. The owners retired in 1975 and it became her own. 37 years later, Raquel’s Jewelry is still her own, with Jarosevschi’s classical tastes spotted in every gemstone laid in her glass cases and heard in every note of music played on her grand piano.
