Official Grand Opening of Grand Bazaar NYC… a bittersweet affair

GreenFlea Market started as a yard sale in 1982 by a group of parents who wanted to raise money for their children’s schools. The yard sale became very popular and in 1985 it officially became GreenFlea Market. The market kept the mission of raising money for the local schools, PS 87, The Computer School, PS 334, and PS 452.

On September 11, 2016, GreenFlea Market changed it’s name to Grand Bazaar NY, in hopes to bring new and younger clientele. Yet not everybody is happy with the change, some of the old vendors are unsure if it will make a difference, some others are worried that they are trying to turn the flea market into something else. New vendors, however, are just looking forward for the experience and hoping that the name change will attract many new costumers.
