I’ve been inspired to do my podcast assignment on a local issue that affects me directly.  I live in Co-op City in the Bronx New York, and for about two years we have been slapped with periodic rent hikes that are supposedly “unavoidable.”  In our city’s newspaper this weekend, there was a story printed, warning about another rent hike approaching caused by “budget cuts”.  If these hikes continue without shareholders trying to oppose them, many people will not be able to afford their rent.

I would like to interview people in my neighborhood and not only get heir opinion about these hikes, but also collaborate with them on effective ways we can actually fight this.  Hopefully, I can get enough opinions and voices to actually promote some type of change against these unfair hikes.
