I talked to Ben Borkowiz, program director for Hawthorn Valley’s Green Market program, who seemed very open and ready to help me with my project. Borkowiz has been selling Hawthorne Valley Farm products at the Union Square Market since 2000, so I believe he is a great and knowledgeable source to use in my project. He will probably also be the main person talking in my video interview.
Mr. Borkowiz said that he and other people selling at the farmers market at Union Square certainly could take time to speak to me about working at a farm-stand, as well as the organization behind it. He did point out that they (the workers) are all pretty busy, and that I will have to time my interviews/visits to the farm-stand to take place during the less busy hours (early morning is probably best).
