Cities grow and change, neighborhoods constantly evolve; and Bath Beach is no different. Originally a German settlement, it was taken over by Italian-Americans in the mid-twentieth century. Bath Beach and its’ neighboring neighborhood Bensonhurst quickly became known for being “Italian neighborhoods.” With the ever-changing times, once again, the comfortable, scenic neighborhood of Bath Beach is getting a refacing. While the pricing and standards of living grow in this area, many people are moving out, while new faces move in causing people who have lived here for decades to feel alienated from formerly familiar surroundings.
