Gathering intel for project

The main focus of my project was meant to be fashion at a commuter school. The angle I was taking was that students at commuter school, especially those in NYC, tend to dress to impress. I wanted to interview various students, see if they agreed/disagreed, talk about the process they go through in deciding what to wear to school every morning, etc.

I realized I couldn’t really make a point unless I interviewed student who lived on campus at their school. I talked to a student from NYU who lives in the dorms, but her dorm isn’t near her school building, so she’ll have to usually walk or take public transportation to get there. This stops her from leaving her dorm in her pajamas and walking straight into class.

Unfortunately, this wasn’t the response I was looking for, but I haven’t given up hope just yet. I’m going to look into visiting the dorms at Fordham or maybe talking to students from Columbia or NYU whose dorms are just closer to campus.

Making the point that commuter school students actually have to spruce up their outfit choices isn’t difficult, but finding students who live in on-campus dorms in NYC and dress down is proving to be a little tricky.
