Brooklyn’s northernmost neighborhood – Greenpoint – has gone through a major transformation within the past ten years, following the footsteps of its “hip” sister-neighborhood Williamsburg. What used to be a largely Polish, middle-class community is now the home of young professionals and a flourishing restaurant and bar and scene. Today, Greenpoint is a mix of old and new: Polish specialty stores neighboring cocktail bars, and modern apartment buildings rising high above old brownstones. Greenpoint also gained worldwide fame as the home of HBO’s hit-series Girls and Boardwalk Empire.
