Importance Of Healthy Diets On Youth

The trend of obesity in the United States has significantly increased and has become a significant health issue resulting in numerous diseases over the past thirty years. Obesity roughly doubled among children from ages two to five and roughly tripled among youth over six years old in the United States since the 1970s.

I wrote this paper for ENG 2150T at Baruch College to understand what causes this trend, and what possible solutions are. Throughout my research, I found the main cause of youth having bad health situations is their unhealthy eating habits. Therefore, in the paper, I will focus on the effects of unhealthy diets on young people between one and thirty years old. Moreover, I explained the two of the most common misconceptions people have about healthy diets and expert explanations about why they are not valid.

The Most Important Values in Chinese Culture

Have you ever wondered about the cultural values of a country with five thousand years of history? In China’s history, it has long been closed to the outside world, not only because its vast territory supported it to be self-sufficient, but also because the Chinese feudal system wanted to restrict people’s activities. Hence China developed unique cultures under the influences of geography, politics, and economics.

In my persuasive paper wrote in ENG 2100T class at Baruch College, I will talk about the most important values in my culture. Being Chinese, the most important values for me are collectivism, indirect communication, and formality.

Is Disney invincible in the streaming media industry?

In November 2020, box office mojo, a box office Statistics website1, showed that the global total box office of Avengers: Endgame reached 2.797 billion US dollars, officially exceeding the 2.789 billion US dollars of avatar, becoming the first in film history. Compare and Contrast between China and the United States

In the 21st century, China is one of the most changed countries in the world. Some people have realized the rise of China and like to compare it with the United States since they are now the two most powerful countries in the world.

Although the relationship between China and America is much closer today due to globalization, their cultural differences still significantly exist in ideology, degree of formality, and diet habits. Thus, I wrote this paper in my ENG 2100T class at Baruch, which will compare the differences between China and the United States

How has colonialism shaped anthropology’s methods, practices, and questions?

This is a paper I wrote for my ANT 1001 class at Baruch. Anthropology is a subject that uses scientific methods to study humans, but it was inextricably linked with colonialism until the late 1960s and early 1970s because anthropology initially was a subject dependent on governmental funding for its development, so it must attest to its function to the colonial government.

Although anthropology became a tool for colonists to expand colonial powers and self-justify, it also developed unique methods, practices, and questions under colonialism’s effects. In this research paper, I will state my opinions about how Anthropology gradually developed itself with its colonial history.

Should We Trust Behaviorism?

This week when I join my friends for lunch, they are having an argument about behaviorism. Arya is very persuaded by the work of B.F. Skinner and argues that we need to eliminate talk of minds and internal states from psychology. If we want psychology to be a genuine science, we need to explain things entirely in terms of environmental conditions, actual behaviors, and patterns of conditioning—no talk of minds, desires, feelings, etc is necessary. Sansa completely disagrees. She says that there are many aspects of human behavior that you cannot explain or account for—or even properly characterize—without making reference to the internal mental states of individual organisms.

In my personal view, I believe Sansa’s argument makes more sense. I think there some behaviors that can only be explained if we allow for talk of internal, mental states. Therefore I wrote a philosophy of psychology paper for my PHI 3035 class at Baruch to explain why behaviorism has natural flaws inside it.
