T.V. in Demand leading to Problems
Most kids plug into the world of television long before they enter school.
Certainly, TV in moderation can be a good thing Preschoolers can obtain knowledge in alphabet on public TV, and parents can keep up with present events on the evening news. No doubt about it .TV can be an excellent mentor and entertainer.
Shirky points out that “Americans watch roughly two hundred billion hours of TV every year” I strongly accept it true. Regardless of its advantages, too much television can be harmful I have experienced this because when I came to this country in 2001 we bought a huge TV in the beginning totally loved it sat in front of it watched nearly all TV shows on TNT, played games but in the long run I started to notice I was become fat because of sitting in front of tv all day eating and eating. i started to lose connection from the outside world I was scared to talk in public because I didn’t have a huge social life. TV kept me busy thinking “oh I know everything that’s going on I’m so up to date” but was losing my self confidence to talk in public and leading towards obesity. Thank god! I realized and started avoiding television went to the gym lost 60 pounds and now I’m quite fit!
For the future I will not let this situation happen with my kids and hopefully everyone learns and not let this occur with them or their loved ones. Too much of anything is bad for you both physically and mentally

What’s Shirky’s big point re: TV viewing? How might we tie your experiences back to Shirky?
