Frederick Douglass

Frederick Douglas was a great experience for me to read. I always enjoy reading novels and such in the point of view of the supresses and this was no exception. Upon reading Frederick Douglass, i had learned that certain aspects and details about his “slave-life” may allude to other kinds of aspects. Douglass is constantly reiterating his terrible slavery circumstances like the fact that he doesn’t even have a name. This tactic is used to show the terrible conditions of slavery and what actually occured during that time. He was trying to show how slavery actually worked and point out how hurrendous the conditions for the slaves actually were. (This was similar to a modest proposal- by using a certain method to reinforce and exaggreate the current conditions occuring during a certain time and certain place)
