Ward Churhill ”Columbus day” and “lets spread the “fun”

Ward Churchill describes this day in a way which debates the reason why this holiday is celebrated. Churchill begins to explain genocide in parst of America. Which can be related to the time of the Nazi Germans. Genocide was basically explained as killing of members of the group. Also relates to how serious bolidly and mental harm members of the group does. Deeper in the story churchill explains how ” crime genocide is usually associated with the forms and programs. The reason why he mentions this is related to some of the gang members in urban areas around the U.S.

On “lets spread the fun” churchill mentions the sports teams in the United States. He mentions that they taret native americans. For example the cleveland indians which is part of the major league baseball team sets am example of using a native like figure and use it as their logo. These types of examples show that native american names are used and it is an example of racism.

The link below shows an example of how nativ american names has been used to contribute to rasism in the U.S till this day.

  1. Danil, I think there are some good ideas in this post, but it looks like you were a bit rushed when you decided to publish it. What are some editing techniques you can use before you publish something to the course blog?
