RiP: A Remix Manifesto

Watching this made me realize that a lot of books, classes, or movies that I used to find pointless are so important. A lot of these “irrelevant” experiences give everyone the opportunity to experience something new and maybe even create a new remix of whatever it may be to their own likeness. Those pointless events/experiences presented in our lives keep growing our scopes of everything and not only help us understand other aspects of life but also allow us to keep renewing the same ideas or events for the next generations. As I kept watching this, I began to realize that even the most seemingly insignificant experiences can hold so much value and can contribute to personal growth. Whether it was a book that didn’t resonate with me at the time or a class that seemed unimportant, each one had the potential to shape my perspectives and challenge my thinking. In the film, they showed how every piece of content, no matter how small or seemingly unimportant, can have a profound impact on our lives. “Copyright does not limit creation; instead, it inspires you to create” It wasn’t exactly how he said it, but something similar to his words. Copyright laws encourage artists to create unique and original works, well at least that’s how a lot of people may perceive it but from what I learned today copyright inspires growth and creativity within us. Not everything has to be original, if matched up with other creations in the end it will still be considered unique and it will have its own originality, but also based on inspiration.
